Suitcases
Suitcases (Walizki in the original Polish) is a collection of short circus vignettes woven together to tell an extraordinary story: the story of our lives. It is an unconventional invitation to dialogue, to reflect on what truly matters. Using circus disciplines, aerial acrobatics, juggling, diabolo and Cyr wheel, as well as contemporary dance, the artists of Upsala-Circus ask the audience essential questions: what will I find in your suitcase? Will it help you continue your journey to a new world, or will it leave you frozen, waiting?
Upsala-Circus has been performing on circus stages across Europe and Central Asia since 2018. They have brought their shows to Spain, Portugal, Serbia, Montenegro and Kazakhstan, and in October 2024 they reach Riga too. This will be their first time in Poland, with the show playing Warsaw on 17 November 2024 at 5:00 PM (Praga Centrum, ul. Szwedzka 2/4).
“Upsala-Circus is a circus open to life. The idea behind our projects is to use culture and education to address social issues. We believe in creativity, dialogue and personal growth,” says Polina Goryanskaya, the show’s producer.
